Malva Pudding

Ingredients

Pudding

  • 250 ml(1Cup) Cake flour
  • 250 ml.(1cup) milk
  • 1 Egg
  • 5 ml Vinegar
  • Pinch of salt
  • 250 ml sugar
  • 15 ml Butter
  • 5 ml Bicarbonate of Soda
  • 15 ml Apricot Jam

Sauce

  • 250 ml Sugar
  • 125 ml Boiling water
  • 5 ml Vanilla or Caramel essence
  • 120 g Butter
  • 250 ml Cream

    Instructions

    Pudding

    Cream butter, sugar egg and jam.

    Mix bicarbonate of soda with milk. Add to above alternately with flour.

    Add vinegar.

    Pour into ovenproof dish and bake at 350F for approx 30 minutes.

    Sauce

    Place sugar, water and butter in saucepan.

    Heat until sugar has melted.

    Stir in cream and essence.

    Pour over pudding while still hot and as soon as pudding comes out of oven. Allow sauce a bit of time to soak through the pudding

    Serve with ice cream
